Debate Korea is hosting Seoul Open 2017, the largest international debate competition in Korea

Sang-jin Oh, former news anchor, television personality, and Chairman of Debate Korea, will hold an international English debate competition. Sang -jin Oh announced on the 20th that Debate Korea, a non-profit organization in which he is the Chairman of, will host 'Seoul Open 2017', an international English debate competition.


'Seoul Open 2017' will be hosted for three days from July 18 to 20 from Chung -Ang University. It is expected to be a place for communication and exchange without barriers among global youth.


This is the first time this year, but it will be the largest in Asia through collaboration with Asia's largest low-cost airline, Air Asia. Champions will be rewarded by the highest level of prize money and Air Asian flights.


Sang -jin Oh said on his SNS, "Since 'University Discussion Battle'(TV program)' that has been broadcast four years ago, I had the desire to create a platform for youth to communicate without barriers. I am truly happy that I have finally realized my dream. We still lack a lot, but we have prepared many benefits, including the largest prize money in Asia. I look forward to the passion and passion of college students."


Meanwhile, Seokho Daniel Yoon(Secretary General of Debate Korea), Jaedong Jeong (Chief Adjudicator of Northeast Asia Debating Championship), Ameera Moore (Chief Adjudicator of World Universities Debating Championship), Adnan Muttalib (Coach of Cornell University Speech and Debate team), and Sera Yun (President of Korea Intervarsity Debate Association) is participating as the Chief Adjudication Panel, increasing the fairness of the competition.


Debate Korea is a non -profit organization aiming to promote debate education and revitalize the debate community in Korea. The meeting between AirAsia's sponsorship and Debate Korea, which have generously supported the vision and dreams of youth, is expected to greatly help the spread of English debate.


The registration for participation in 'Seoul Open 2017' will be closed on a first -come, first -served basis until July 7.
